Winning Today

Today, I feel like I am actually winning!

Last week was a rough one. But I expressed my perceived failures, confessed them, let them hang in the air like excess moisture as it crystalizes with below-zero temperatures.

This week the sun is shining, temperatures are bearable, and I am feeling more motivation.

Today I showered (I know, this should be a task that doesn't warrant celebration, but...), I dived into some work on my second book and felt inspired, and then my little man, his pup, and I ventured out for a while to enjoy some sledding. Just he and I, a date of sorts, doing something that brought us both joy.

The sound of that giggling child swelled my chest. The sun on my frigid skin warmed my heart.

Little triumphs today deserve big celebration! Today, I am winning!
